Managing Partner | South Florida

Richard is the Managing Partner of our new South Florida office. Richard is responsible for building out our Florida practice and establishing Proficio as a trusted advisor in one of the most vibrant and fastest-growing regions in the country. Richard is a Portfolio Manager and works closely with both existing and future Proficio families providing them with both financial and non-financial guidance, insights and direction. Richard serves on our investment committee where he splits his time on both public and private investment solutions.

History

Prior to joining Proficio Richard spent 30 years on Wall Street at the premier firms of Kidder Peabody, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. After 4 years in Corporate Finance and M&A Richard has spent the last 25 years working in the capital markets servicing the largest and most respected money managers in North America. In his last role, Richard ran Credit Suisse’s Boston Equity business for over 8 years and oversaw the distribution of non-US Equity products across the US. Richard’s expertise lies in capital market fundamentals, investment products, economic cycles, and micro/macro risk factors. He has become a trusted advisor to some of the smartest investors in the world and dedicated his career to helping them generate alpha in complex markets over multiple cycles. Richard brings a global perspective which comes from his unique upbringing as he grew up in Montreal, Canada and Sao Paulo, Brazil – he speaks English, French, Portuguese and a working knowledge of Spanish.

Education

Richard holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (major Finance and Economics) from the University of Tennessee

Outside the Office

Richard currently lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts (soon to be relocating to Miami, FL) with his wife Whitney and has three adult daughters. Over the years Richard has been active in the community and has worked closely with several non for profit institutions in different capacities including: Dana Hall, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Hebrew Senior Life, Solving Kids Cancer, Boston Children’s Hospital and Pine Street Inn. Richard is an avid tennis player having Played Division 1 tennis in college and also enjoys golf, paddle, pickle, and poker.
