Partner & Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)

Sheldon is a Partner and the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Proficio Capital Partners. In this role Sheldon sets the strategic direction for the firm and leads the effort in implementing the goals for growth, value and vision for the organization. In addition, Sheldon works closely with both existing and future Proficio families providing them with both financial and non-financial guidance and direction. Sheldon serves on the investment committee where he splits his time on both public and private investment solutions.

History

Sheldon was Managing Director at Wellington Management and the Director of Industry Research for the Americas. In this role, Sheldon oversaw an investment group comprising fundamentally focused global industry analysts that conducted in-depth research to provide investment recommendations for portfolio managers and analysts across the firm, in addition to managing global and sector research portfolios. Sheldon was a member of Wellington’s Private Equity Oversight Committee, Equity Review Group II, Trading Policy Review Group, Fund Approval and Closure Committee, Diversity Committee and responsible for attracting and developing the firm’s talent. Prior to assuming this position in 2014, Sheldon was an investment director in Equity Product Management, working closely with investors to help ensure the integrity and risk controls of the investment approach. Before joining Wellington in 2013, Sheldon spent 20 years at Credit Suisse with his last position as Head of Distribution and Sales for US Equity Research in which he managed a team of 100 sales and sector specialists throughout the US and Europe. Sheldon has experience in a diverse suite of financial products and strategies ranging from single stock equities, ETFs, indexes, derivatives, prime brokerage, fixed income/credit, trading, and capital market activities.

Education

Sheldon earned his MBA from Harvard Business School (1992) and his BA in chemistry from Yeshiva University (1987) (Magna Cum Laude)

Outside the Office

Sheldon serves on the Board of Gann Academy and is Chair of the Investment Committee. He is an active volunteer for Hope Time Cure Epilepsy Foundation, One Family and United Hatzalah. He enjoys participating in triathlons, marathons and long distance swims.  Sheldon resides in Sharon, MA with his wife and has four adult children.
